Ihor Matvienko, Atlanta 1996 Olympic champion in the 470 class, continued his sailing legacy at the Sydney and Athens Games for Ukraine. Beyond medals, he founded the MIR Yacht Club in Dnipro, passionately promoting sailing among all age groups. Matvienko, now the head of the regional sailing authority, dedicates himself to fostering a love for the sport and nurturing the next generation of sailors in his hometown.
